Upon acceptance to UNI, you will be able to sign up for New Student Orientation. If you are eligible, you can expect to receive an email to register for Jump Start, an orientation program designed with you in mind!
After becoming acquainted with the campus and methods to succeed on campus, sign up with us and be assigned your THRIVE mentor.

ALEKS Test
If you are transferring, your advisor may use ALEKS to make sure you are place in appropriate math, science amd business classes. Login to MyUNIverse to take ALEKS. If you would like more information, please use the links below:


The Learning Center
THRIVE academically by using The Learning Center located in Rod Library on the main floor. As well as Walk-In Tutoring, Smarthinking Online Tutoring, Academic Workshops, Academic Coaching (reading text, taking notes, time management, etc), the UNI 101 Video Series, and other Supplemental Resources, The Learning Center offers tutoring in Business, Math/Stats, Computer Science, Interactive Digital Studies, Science, Spanish and Undergraduate Writing.

PACE
Starting your college career is a big change in your life, and sometimes a little extra support
makes a big difference. PACE, the Panther Access, Connection and Engagement Program, is here
to help you as you transition to your life at the University of Northern Iowa. PACE serves first-generation
college students, those with Pell Grant on their financial aid award, students from underrepresented
racial/ethnic groups, and those who have participated in Jump Start or TRIO programs (Upward Bound,
Educational Talent Search, GEAR UP, and Student Support Services), during their first year at UNI. Click the link below for more info!
